Nostalgic Bloom

Process & Development
Originally, I was pulling inspiration from book The Secret Garden but as I dived deeper into my collection it shifted to being more about what the garden represented for the characters. Throughout the journey of creating Nostalgic Bloom, I found inspiration for the silhouettes from many different sources. I looked to different garden layouts, specifically from aerial views, draping various fabrics and inputting my sketches/drapes into Midjourney. All of these methods helped me push my designs.
Inspiration for the patchwork came from the aerial view of multiple different gardens

A couple of my drapes on a half scale form. These would become small inspirations for two of the looks in the collection

Another method I used to come up with design ideas was to collage pieces of fabric together to see what silhouettes I could pull from that.
